Most people mistakenly think that epilepsy is a contagious disease; that it can be spread through bodily contact with someone who has epilepsy. For this reason, many people avoid helping people with epilepsy when they are having a convulsion or “fainting fit”. This is totally wrong!
Epilepsy is a disease of the brain and can never be spread through bodily contact. Do not hesitate to help someone convulsing for fear of being contaminated with Epilepsy because epilepsy is not contagious!
