Epilepsy And Aid Foundation (EAAF) Cameroon has launched a new project called – Epilepsy Support Group Innitiative. The Foundation has gone Nation wide with creating many of such support groups in communities with high prevalence rate of Epilepsy.

According to Doctor Noela M, Founder of the Foundation, “Support groups have been used as an important strategy for the management of chronic diseases. There are great way for people with chronic conditions to receive support and raise further awareness of the condition.

Despite these, Epilepsy support groups are rare in Cameroon. Consequently, most persons with epilepsy in Cameroon are living in social isolation which can lead to poor patient’s experience, depression and poor health outcomes.

To address this situation, we are creating Epilepsy Support groups in communities with high epilepsy prevalence.
