Epilepsy Awareness and Aid Foundation (EAAF) Cameroon has won The Total Energies Award for Total Startupper Challenge 2022 in Cameroon.

She explains that under the banner of her foundation, she participated in the competition with one of the projects of her foundation called – Tele-Epilepsy.

Tele-Epilepsy seeks to increase access to timely, cost-effective, safe, and effective care for epilepsy patients in remote areas in Cameroon using telecommunications technologies. The main purpose is to contribute to the achievement of universal health coverage by reducing the wide epilepsy treatment gap.

Quizzed on the future of the project her organization just won, she says “This project will be training communities with the right skills to act as first responders to patients with epilepsy. It will empower communities to play a central role in the management of high levels of epilepsy found in remote areas of the country through telemedicine.

This project which has been finding difficulties of being implemented, in the days ahead will soon be a thing of the past.
